All of us have moments and milestones we want to mark, and to turn into a memory that stays with us for good. Not everyone, though, can afford to. Even a brit or a bar or bat mitzvah is no small expense for a family today, let alone a wedding. At the association we set ourselves to this and came up with an idea to help people who want to celebrate an important occasion in their lives but cannot stretch to it.
On the third floor of our building we have set up a lovely events hall, bright and spacious, meant precisely for these people and families, for whom an option like this can make the difference between frustration and sadness and an unforgettable, joyful occasion. We also know from experience how quickly the wheel can turn, how a person or a family that was doing well can find itself at the bottom, financially, for one reason or another. And we know that it is in people's nature to give. So the hall is offered not only to those whose circumstances are difficult and who need help, but also to those who are doing well and want to give.
Celebrate your occasion with joy, and bring joy to others while you do
This is the other side of the coin. As we said, we think of everyone: of those who need practical help right now, and of those who would find real satisfaction in giving. To people who are doing well we offer to hold their event with us, with great pleasure, and in doing so to donate whatever amount they can, money with which we provide meals for people of limited means at our soup kitchen. We believe wholeheartedly that giving is receiving, and if you have the means right now to give and to look after others, cast your bread upon the waters; or rather, not upon the waters but straight into the association's kitchen, because your money is turned immediately into meals that reach people in need.
In short, we at the association look at the wider picture and think about how to get the most out of the help we provide. To those whose means are limited right now we offer a lovely hall in which to celebrate for a purely nominal sum. To those who are doing well we offer the hall together with a donation of meals that reach people who need them. In this way, through our giving together with celebrants who are able to give as well, we all gain a stronger, more united and warmer community.
